Formally known as Windmill
Park Country Club, the most prestigious golf course in Thailand. It
was established in year 1992 with an excellent location on the Bangna
- Trad Highway 10.5 k.m, from Samutprakarn, for accessibility convenience
in and out of Bangkok. This most exciting and challenging 18 holes
golf course has hosted several world leading golf tournaments, including
The Lexus International (1999-2000) and also The 1st & 2nd Thailand
Masters (2000-2001) . |
| Summit Windmill Golf Club |
 |
Designed by Jack Nicklaus,
Opened in 1993
Number 27
Par 108
Yardage total - 9326
|
This championship course designed
by Jack Nicklaus is undoubtedly one of the finest golf courses in
Thailand. The three nines comprising the 27-hole layout-'Mountain',
'Lake' and 'Creek' offer interesting variations in terrain. The rolling
hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to effect, and
the exposed rock formations add to the beauty of the fairways. |
| Laem Chabang Country Club |
 |
Designed by Desmond Muirhead ,
Opened in 2001
Number 18
Par 74
Yardage total - 7686
|
The layout features a profusion
of flora and large rocks. Lodged on the side of a hill, the rocky
outcrops and boulders pose additional hazards. Bunkers have been used
very intelligently, inviting the good golfer to drive over them, while
the lesser player has plenty of room to lay up. There are some very
cunning dog-legs to complete the challenge. |
| St Andrews 2000 |
 |
Designed by Dye Designs
Opened in 1992
Number 27
Par 36 each 9 holes
Yardage total - 10549
|
This 27-hole course is situated
along Route 36 heading towards Pattaya, and takes about 80 minutes
to reach from central Bangkok. Like so many of the Eastern Seaboard's
courses, it catches a strong breeze so players have to plan their
shots carefully on account of the numerous large ponds, bunkers and
hills that surround the greens and fairways. |
| Khao Kheow Country Club |
 |
Designed by Denis Griffiths
Opened in 1993
Number 27
Par 72
Yardage total - A 3,229 : B 3,285 : C 3,144 yards
|
Blessed with a wooded, rolling
terrain, this coastal course comprises three nines -"Ocean",
"Lake" and "Mountain". The fairways tend to be
narrow, but the greens are spacious and landscaped with bamboo, eucalyptus
and bushes. Good clubhouse facilities, and its proximity to Pattaya
make this course well worth visiting. |
| Phoenix Golf and Country Club |
 |
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr
Opened in 1992
Number 18
Par 72
Yardage total - 7134
|
This is a local favourite
and plays host to several area competitions. The course can play quite
long, particularly from the championship blue tees, where the distance
is more than 7,100 yards. The signature hole is the fiendishly picturesque
par 3 fourth, which lulls players into admiring the scenery, rather
than paying attention to their task of playing over water to a heavily
bunkered green. |
